“The current indications show that this season will be better than the one last year and the record breaking season in 2013,” the director of the National Tourism Organisation, Zeljka Radak-Kukavicic, said for daily Pobjeda.
As she pointed out, the official figures for the six months suggest that a good tourism turnover during July and August inspired reasonable optimism. During this year’s tourist season, as she said, there was a continued growth in revenues, the number of tourists and overnight stays. The hotels have already had a good visit for September, October and even November booked.
“During the first six months, about €145 million revenue was reached, which represents about 9% growth compared to the same period last year. Taking into account physical indicators, we estimate that that this trend of revenue growth will be continued in July too,” the director of the National Tourism Organisation said.
As she pointed out the events traditionally organised on the coast and in the north of Montenegro significantly contributed to a good tourism season.
