Electricity heating, that is, air conditioning heating, is a sin, and that electricity might be free of charge – that’s a crazy idea, said the Director of the Secretariat of the Energy Community, Janez Kopač, during the meeting of the Assembly Committee for Economy.
Current situation in the energy sector was presented at the meeting. Kopač said that Montenegro was the best in the implementation of the reforms and had no any application for offence.
“There are heating pumps that are much more efficient and Montenegro has a lot of hot air that can be used in a very efficient manner”, said Kopač.
Filip Vuković (DPS) explained that the majority of the citizens had air-conditioning heating system.
“The whole world is going towards renewable energy resources and that process costs a lot. Reconstruction of old thermal power plants due to the environment protection is expensive and has to be paid”.
Boris Mugoša (SD) asked about the increase of the fee for renewable resources that caused electricity bills to go up as well, Kopač said that the majority of European states financed the tariff through electricity bills.
“The truth is that small hydro power plants won’t resolve the electricity supply problem, but big ones will”, said Kopač.
Kopač appreciated the work of the Regulatory Energy Agency. However, they are not very satisfied with the work of Agency for Protection of Competition since it hadn’t dealt with energy sector that much.
