The chief architect in Budva, Ana Samardžić, consented to a conceptual design for the reconstruction of the Mediteran Hotel in Bečići provided by the Podgorica-based company ‘Spencer & Hill’, owned by ex-basketball player Nikola Peković and whose executive director and an authorized distributor is Ivica Sarić.
The plan is to build one more floor so that the hotel has 6 floors in total instead of 5, while the net surface of the building will be increased from the existing 14,000 sqm to 18,000 sqm. The number of accommodation capacities will be significantly increased as well, from the existing 230 to 237, and there will be more apartments, as it was one of the main preconditions for the hotel categorization. The newly-built 6th floor is going to have only one apartment.
The Mediteran Hotel was built in early 1970s as part of the hotel complex in Bečići and projected as the B-category hotel. After its privatization and adaptation, it was turned into a 4-star hotel.
