Pensioners with the lowest pension and beneficiaries of material security will start receiving money today as part of the aid provided by the European Union (EU) to Montenegro, the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Admir Adrovic, has announced.
He has said at yesterday’s cabinet meeting the conditions were met for carrying out the payment from the EU aid package, in the total amount of €27m, with the aim of overcoming the energy crisis and helping socially vulnerable categories.
He has specified that the package of €150 refers to 40.340 beneficiaries of the lowest pension, for which it was necessary to allocate around €6.05m, while €15.600 were set aside for 104 beneficiaries of temporary benefits.
Minister of Finance Aleksandar Damjanovic says that formal conditions have been created for the payment of part of those funds according to defined categories.
The total EU aid amounts to €30m, of which the first tranche of €27m was paid on 23 March 2023.
