The President of the Sailing Club “Lahor”, Filip Petricevic, said that the donation was one of the largest in the club’s history, which was established in 1947.
“As a result, the Sailing Club “Lahor” is today equipped with additional three new sailboats of “Optimist” class, produced by the famous Danish manufacturer “Winner”. This kind of donation is a great support both to our club in such difficult conditions and Montenegrin sailing in general. We hope that the Diplomatic Regatta Club continue to successfully organise these events for the benefit of other sailing clubs in Montenegro,” he added.
According to Mladen Filipovic, a representative of the Diplomatic Regatta Club Montenegro, this day is particularly important for people from the club.
“We are pleased that we share the joy of presenting the young sailors of the “Lahor” Club and the club management with the sailboats with them, as well as the participants of last year’s diplomatic regatta, whose generosity and understanding enabled “Lahore” to get the valuable vessels. The “Lahor” Club, with its almost 70-year existence, sporting successes and quality of work with young sailors, has deserved help in renewing its fleet. We are pleased that they have chosen boats made by famous manufacturers. All of us in the club, as well as the friends of the club who provided this donation, want young sailors to win medals with their youth, sailing skills and love for the sea and to carry the name of their club and the name of their country wherever they sail,“ he stressed.
The Diplomatic Regatta Club and the friends of the club, with the support of the Yacht Club Porto Montenegro, are organising the 3rd Diplomatic Regatta on Saturday.
