Milica Pejanovic Djurisic, the former defense minister and president of the board of directors of the Atlantic Council, has said at the opening of the 2BS Forum in Budva that the Forum has tried to be a platform that encourages discussions in South-Eastern Europe in previous years.
Pejanovic Djurisic says that since 24 February, when the Russian aggression against Ukraine began, we have been living in a completely different world.
She has also said that the narratives questioning democratic rights have found a foothold in our region with a significant impact on political dynamics characterized by instability, with the potential to lead to the upheaval of an already fragile peace.
Reinke has said that three types of threats have been identified – external, internal and existential.
“The world changed on 24 February in Russia’s criminal attempt to wipe out Ukrainian sovereignty. Our security cooperation is therefore more important than ever. Internal threats are something that worries and increases divisions in society”, she has said.
The existential threat, she says, is something that threatens the peace of Montenegro in the long term, and that is the impossibility to solve entrenched corruption.
“Corruption must be stopped, and I would like to say that the real threat is the government that fails to put party interests above social interests”, said Reinke.
She has emphasized that those parties that did not condemn the Russian aggression against Ukraine are not partners of the USA.
