President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr Vlastimir Golubović, talked to the representatives of Boise 39 Company from Morocco and Javorak Company from Nikšić, Mr Zouhair Bouhanan and Mr Brano Mićković, who deal with the production and trade of beech timber.
The meeting discussed problems wood-processors are faced with in exporting goods to markets of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and United Arab Emirates.
Boise 39 has signed contract with the following Montenegrin wood-processing companies: Javorak, Duga, Drvex, Brezna Future, NK šume, Pelengić Trade, Keker, Lancer and Prizma, on monthly export amount of 2.500 m3 of sawn beech timber.
“However, good export in this way can’t be competitive on these markets, due to the absence of the agreement on free trade”, Chamber of Commerce said.
Mr Golubović said that he would soon launch initiative for the solution of this problem.
