“We do not interfere with the desires of other countries. Serbia has its own desire, and that is to be militarily neutral. This is our desire, we have a parliamentary declaration, and this is how we act”, said the Prime Minister, stressing that Serbia does not feel vulnerable.
He said Serbia spoke to Russian partners about the ballistic missiles being acquired by certain regional countries.
“We are not worried, we can defend ourselves, but I do not know why anyone in our region would buy ballistic missiles. I believe that in future we will discuss this matter more: either they give it up, or we’ll have to find an answer to that”, Vucic said in an interview with Sputnik.
Asked whether Serbia would suggest a trilateral meeting in Belgrade with Montenegro and Russia, Mr. Vucic said Serbia is a small country that couldn’t tell Russia where and how to do things.
“If Russia would ask us, we are always ready to provide the best possible services to both Russia and Montenegro, and to talk on any issue, and I think that people in Montenegro would like that very mch. To be honest, I think they do miss this now, but of course, Russia has the right to protect its national interests, and we will in no way interfere with it”, said Vucic.
