National carrier Air Montenegro has stated the delay in the arrival of its new aircraft was caused by administrative and technical issues on the lessor’s side, adding that the airline bears no responsibility for the postponed delivery.
The carrier says the ferry flight of the Embraer aircraft, registered as 4O-AOI, from Saarbrücken to Podgorica was cancelled due to circumstances beyond its control.
According to them, the delay resulted from issues that were the responsibility of the aircraft lessor – TrueNoord – which formally apologized for failing to deliver the aircraft on time. The company said unresolved administrative and technical matters prevented aviation authorities from issuing the required flight permit.
Air Montenegro has added that TrueNoord confirmed the national carrier fulfilled all of its obligations during the handover process and is now working to resolve the remaining issues.
The airline apologized to the public for the delay and said it expected the aircraft to join its fleet soon, with a new delivery date to be announced once confirmed.
