Prime Minister Milojko Spajic said that the renovation of the former Government building for the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) and Special Police Department (SPO) marks a major step in strengthening Montenegro’s capacity to fight organised crime and corruption.
He emphasised that the €3+ million investment provides long-needed working conditions and demonstrates concrete commitment to building the rule of law, not just through promises but through action. The new facility, equipped with high security standards, will support complex investigations and improve efficiency.
Chief Special Prosecutor Milorad Markovic said the upgrade will enhance cooperation, safety, and international collaboration, while Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Becic highlighted visible results in tackling crime, including asset freezes.
Justice Minister Bojan Bozovic and Public Works Minister Majda Adzovic stressed that the project reflects strong state support for law enforcement and judicial reform, aligned with EU integration priorities (Chapters 23 and 24). The facility will be phased into use to ensure uninterrupted operations.
